Interview with APTE’s Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed

Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed is a Nigerian amateur online reporter from Offa, a prominent town in Kwara-State.

He counts himself as an advocate of justice who loves to write about the situations in his country, Nigeria, which he has been doing since 2020 and he cherishes addressing political issues the most. His articles and writings have won accolades on national sites. He is currently working on his novel, “AFRICANAH” which tries to recounts the brutal experiences of teachers in the hands of their various societies in Africa.

Toaheed, as he is fondly called, lost his father in 2020. “He passed away gently though”. After the death of his Father, it was very challenging for him and his mother to put food on the table in addition to the cost of his education and that of his siblings. Toaheed laments “ever since then, things are not how it ought to be. My mode of eating is with CODE 101. It means I eat in the morning and the night only”. To sustain himself, Toaheed tutors children who are preparing for WAEC/NECO and most especially JAMB students in his community tutorial centres.

Toaheed joined the APTEi Family in 2017 and we have supported and seen him through his secondary and now his post-secondary school education.  He is currently a law student of Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto State, Nigeria

Toaheed has this to say about the impact of APTEi:

The impact of this benevolent organization in my life is massive. Let me start with the founder, she is a compassionate being who loves the less privileged children like me as if we were her own. She would immediately arrange for our school fees and other things immediately. She never for once played with our lives and when I had the chance of meeting her sometime in around 2017 or so, I made this decision in my mind that I would set up an NGO like hers in the posterity if I had the opportunity. She had an enormous impact on my life and if not for her, I wouldn't be myself because I have this strong passion for education. After Almighty God, my glory should and would and must go to APTE, they are the real-life changer.

As part of giving back to the community, Taoheed offer free coaching, lectures, and books to students online. He founded WhatsApp groups for this, and we have like 456 students in attendance as at the last JAMB examination.

Taoheed had this to say to meaningful Nigerians, “with support from APTEi my 100 Level is certain from the help they gave me, but the rest is in a dark level sir. God will help them.”

PS: We have successfully helped Taoheed through his Secondary Education to gaining admission into the university but he still needs support to help complete his Tertiary education. His budget for Schooling is about NGN100,000
